About the Program
The Accounting/Bookkeeping series will provide you with an understanding of the complete accounting cycle. Successful Graduates of this program may be Certified as Professional Bookkeepers by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB).
Students will learn to:
• Analyze, classify, and record business transactions
• Enter information manually or using QuickBooks
• Prepare tax forms and financial statements

? When are the classes and how are they taught?
The Accounting & Bookkeeping classes run every semester, and are offered morning, evening, and on Saturday. Online course sections for this program are also available. Please see the schedule for details regarding dates, times, location, prerequisites and the required book.
The courses in this program are seminar-type, hands-on classes. In most classes you will be working on assignments given by the instructor.
? What courses are included in the full series?
The Accounting/Bookkeeping Series runs for a total of 76 Hours, and includes the following sections:
- ACNT-1002: Accounting (48 hrs)
- ACNT-1010: Computerized Accounting (QuickBooks) (28 hrs)
? How does the online class work?
The online section for Accounting/Bookkeeping Series uses Blackboard, with students logging in via their ACCeID.
All materials will be made available online, with the exception of the required textbook. Real-time, online meetings and discussions are scheduled in accordance to the students' and instructor's availability. These meetings are recorded and available for the duration of the class. They are not mandatory but encouraged. Students must have their own computer with a working copy of QuickBooks Pro or Premier (version 2010 or higher).
Notice: The Quickbooks course is designed for the desktop version in Microsoft Windows format. Neither the Online, or Apple versions are supported by the class material.
